Mixing It Up

Hey everybody. If you haven't heard this blog might shift into a sports video blog instead of a typed blog. I feel this will make it more entertaining for some of you. There will be a link on my facebook account when it gets going in correlation with a youtube channel. Now onto sports. Tomorrow the Sweet 16 will start and I got to say that the two teams to watch are Duke and UCONN. I expect these two teams to roll onto the Elite 8. These might be two of the best teams left in the tournament and either one of them is capable of winning a national championship. The other team I will be watching plays on Friday and it is Butler. After knocking off the Pittsburgh I now think that this team has the easiest road to the final four. If they don't make it I will be surprised. Sorry for not talking about much. I am still working on getting a webcam so I can do video blogs. Thanks for reading. I'm Out!

Lets Just Grill

Today is just gonna be a day to grill the whole sports world. In baseball news Barry Bonds perjury trial is going to be starting in the next few days he has once again changed his story and now says and I quote, " I didn't know they were steroids." So Barry what did you think they were skittles. If you just fess up to your crime you will only be in the slammer for 20 years. Own up to your wrongs and be a man. A couple games on tonight first in college hoops more women's teams are ready to clinch their Sweet 16 birth as UCONN and Baylor take the floor, and in the NBA Chicago looks to pick up their 10th win in their last 11 as they travel to Atlanta. While Kobe and the Lakers host Phoenix trying to extend a 4 game win streak. Now onto fan mail. First up Sam has some questions that I will answer. Sam, Joe is not making a weak roster the pitching rotation may struggle early on but if it gets to be June and one pitcher is struggling don't be surprised to see Andy "Favre" Pettite make a comeback and lead the Yankees to the postseason. My Aunt Joline comments about the Big East Tourney struggles. I agree with her when she says the Big East refs call less fouls and because of that teams struggle at tourney time transitioning to the different style of reffing. Good comment. Finally Keith I want you to leave a comment tonight about these weak players he is hoarding and I will go more in depth tomorrow. Now every Monday there will be a NASCAR update for all you lovers of the left turn. Thanks for reading leave comments. I'm Out!

Yesterday's action and things to come

Tonight I am going to not look forward to the Sweet Sixteen yet but I am going to make 5 bold statements regarding players, coaches, and games that occurred this week. I will countdown from 5 beginning with the least important of these statements. I'm not gonna elaborate unless someone makes a comment about one of them. I'm just gonna make my statements, talk some Yankees baseball, and end it. Here we go. 5. Shelvon Mack of Butler committed the dumbest foul in NCAA tournament history. 4. VCU has made the greatest impact of any team seeded below 10 in the tourney so far. 3. The Big East schedule is too rigorous and tired for teams to recover from come tournament time. 2. The most impressive team so far is one that is not a member of one of the Power 6 conferences. Who do you think it is? Finally the boldest statement of the weekend. 1. Scoop Jardine is still trying to figure out what over and back means. Those are my bold statements of the weekend of hoops. Comment on these and I will mention you in my next grill. Now onto some Yankees baseball opening day is soon approaching so roster spots are now being solidified. Yesterday Joe Girardi named A.J. Burnett as the number 2 starter putting Hughes at 3, Nova at 4, and Colon as the possible 5. A weaker rotation by far for the Yankees to start the year. With this weak rotation the bullpen and the bats will be very important. Thanks for reading leave comments, ask questions, and we will talk. I'm Out!

The Wild Tourney.

The tournament is officially nearing the climax as the weaker teams are being weeded out and teams are beginning to punch their tickets for the Sweet 16. My bracket currently on the ESPN Tournament Challenge is in the 58.8 pct and I have 260 points. Last night some good action occurred with most of the higher seeds advancing in convincing fashion. The game I watched was of course the Syracuse Orange game as they advance on to take on Big East opponent Marquette in the third round. The two shining lights for the Orange were senior big guy Rick Jackson putting up a season high 23 and consistent freshman CJ Fair complementing him with 13 points. Look for these two along with Brandon Triche to really shine in their next matchup. So far we have 2 Sweet 16 tickets punched by Kentucky and Florida. Kentucky advanced after beating West Virginia 71-63 behind freshman Brandon Knight and his 30 points. The game was close at halftime but the decisive moments came when Kentucky opened up the second half on an 11-0 run. The Wildcats will play either Ohio State or George Mason in Newark next week. The other game was Florida over UCLA 73-65 behind Walker's 21 points. They played well all game and got large contributions from their bench. They will play the winner of Gonzaga and BYU which starts around 7:55 tonight. That is my upset alert tonight. I got Gonzaga over BYU with the bigs of Gonzaga leading the way. Hope you enjoy this blog comment and there will be another post on Monday. I'm Out!

Crazy Day of Hoops

What a day of hoops. Before I talk about the tournament I want to give applause to the NCAA for getting the tournament on four different cable channels. Instead of watching regional coverage on CBS you can now watch all the games on four different channels. Thank you NCAA for the great work. The first game today was a big win by West Virginia over Clemson. The Tigers led early by ten before the Mountaineers went on a run to start the second half and put the Tigers away. Also the Butler Bulldogs starting another run at the Final four with a 60-58 win over Old Dominion on a buzzer beating layup by Matt Howard. Two more upsets occurred as Morehead State knocked off Louisville and Richmond knocked off Vanderbilt. Both of these games were won late. Pittsburgh and San Diego State advanced big and. The two other games were also buzzer beating wins making the higher seeds advance. Temple advanced as Fernandez hit a leaning jumper late and Kentucky beat Princeton on a late lay-up by freshman Brandon Knight. A great of hoops is half done. More talk about the action tomorrow night. A few more quick notes. Due to the NFL Lockout my boy Chad Ochocinco has decided to tryout for the MLS team the Sporting Kansas City. I say if anyone can do it Ocho can. In Chad we trust. Also last night in spring training the Yankees might have found another starter after Ivan Nova threw 6 perfect innings in a 10-0 drumming of the Orioles. One more note about the Yankees is that Joe Girardi has named Brett Gardner as the lead-off hitter for opening day putting Jeter in the 2 hole. Joe knows best. Thanks for reading, send questions, and enjoy the tournament. I'm Out!

Breakdown of the other two

Tonight I will breakdown the other two regions. First up the southwest region. Advancing to the third round or 32 I got Kansas,UNLV,Vandy,Louisville,USC,Purdue,Texas A&M and Notre Dame. Advancing to the sweet 16 I got Kansas over UNLV. Louisville over Vandy. Purdue over USC. Notre Dame. Moving onto the elite 8 I got Kansas over Louisville and Purdue upsetting Notre Dame setting up a matchup of #1 Kansas and #3 Purdue for the right to go to Houston. Now onto the rest of the Field. Winners in the Southeast region round 2 are Pittsburgh, Butler,Kansas state,Belmont,Gonzaga,BYU,Michigan state and Florida. Advancing to the sweet 16 is Pittsburgh over Butler, Kansas state over Belmont, Gonzaga over BYU, and Florida over Michigan state. Elite 8 I got Pitt advancing and cinderella Gonzaga playing to go to the final four. breakdown of the elite 8 and rest of tourney tomorrow. I'm out!

The East and West region

Tonight in my grill I'm going to take you to the Elite 8 in the East and West Regions. So get out your bracket sheets and listen up. First up the East region. Second round games I got Ohio State beating play in game winner big. Villanova regaining focus and knocking off George Mason. Clemson the 12 seed upsetting Big East joke West Virginia. Kentucky ending Princeton's hopes. Xavier close over Marquette. The Orange of the Cuse bringing it to Indiana State. Washington over Georgia and the Tar Heels over Long Island. Continuing to the third round the east. I got Ohio State three's putting the Buckeyes over Villanova. Kentucky guards will be too much for Clemson. Syracuse over Xavier in a close one. North Carolina showcasing Tyler Zeller down low over Washington. The sweet 16 of the East I got Ohio State winning on a late shot over Kentucky and the Syracuse zone shutting down the Tar Heels struggling perimeter game. So my East regional final will be a match-up of the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes taking on the #3 Syracuse Orange. The rest of this Bracket will be revealed on Wednesday. Now it's on to the West Region. I will list second round winners before a deeper analysis. #1 Duke over Hampton. #9 Tennessee over Michigan. #5 Arizona over 12 Memphis. #4 Texas over Oakland. #11 Missouri upsetting Cincinnati. #3 UCONN over Bucknell. #10 Penn State upsetting Temple and #2 San Diego State over North Colorado. In the third round I have Duke over Tennessee in a physical battle. Texas behind the 3 ball over Arizona. Kemba Walker taking over and sending the Huskies to the Sweet 16 and San Diego State taking care of Penn State and Talor Battle. The winners in the Sweet 16 are #1 Duke and #3 UCONN because of 1 word EXPERIENCE. Both of these programs have seasoned veterans and young guys that have played through tough conference seasons. So far I have Ohio State and Syracuse out of the East and Duke and UCONN out of the West. Tomorrow I will add 4 more teams to this list as I breakdown the other two regions before naming a champion on Wednesday night before the real tournament starts. I mean come on none of those eight teams playing tomorrow are gonna win the whole thing anyhow. Thanks for reading and send me your tourney questions. I'm Out!

It's the most wondeful time of the Year!

Selection Sunday is here and the Brackets are set. After reviewing the Brackets and consulting with my fellow Bracketologists it's time for the Bracket awards. First up we have the biggest snub of the tournament. This award is given to the Colorado Buffaloes. They knocked of big time teams and played well in the Big 12 Tourney and they don't get a shot in the tourney. Next up we will choose the Toughest Region in the Tourney. The Toughest Region Award goes to the East Region. This region contains Ohio State league and conference tournament champ of the Big Ten. North Carolina league champ and conference tournament runner-up. Syracuse who has played well all year and Kentucky who won the SEC tournament. Look for the champ to come out of this region. Next we have the biggest Cinderella team. The biggest Cinderella I see is Gonzaga the 11 seed in the Southeast region. I could see this team making a run at the Sweet 16 by knocking off St. Johns who has lost D.J. Kennedy and BYU who has lost Davies their big guy. We have two awards left. The first is the most likely to fail. This award goes to Pittsburgh even though they play in the easiest region I don't see this team making the Final 4. Watch a Round 3 match-up against Butler for the Panthers to fall. The final award is the overrated team. The most overrated team is Florida the 2 seed in the Southeast region. How is this team a 2 they just lost to Kentucky and they are a 4 I know it was tough to pick since 4 more teams got in but switch Florida and Kentucky not that I'm saying either one of these teams is a 2. Your telling me Florida is the 8th best team in the country. Yeah right Florida is a joke. Whatever tomorrow night I will break down the East and West regions. So check it out and tell me what you think. I'm Out!

Morning Blogging

Sorry for keeping you all waiting last night but I was too busy mourning the loss of my Orange. Well I just want to say that the Orange played well as a team down the stretch. Scoop Jardine's two late threes were big in the Orange's success. In overtime the Orange missed many free throws and Kemba Walker continued his clutch antics leading the Huskies to a win. Later the Louisville beat Notre Dame in Overtime. That sets up a good match up of the Huskies and the Cardinals tonight. I got Kemba continuing his run and Louisville struggling to stop Walker will not play well in the second half. The NFL has locked out the players officially and this has started the players suing the owners the reason for this is to get the ball rolling and see what happens. That is all I'm going to discuss but tomorrow night tune in for a full breakdown of all tournament brackets. Thanks everybody keep reading and send me some questions regarding tournament teams or the NBA.

Tournament Talk!

Hey everybody sorry for the lack of blogging last night. I was busy taking my talents to DeRuyter and participating in a senior all-star game. I had 10 points and some sweet assists in a 102-72 drumming of our opponents. But enough of that now its time for an update of my top eight seeds. With Pittsburgh losing today they have now dropped out of my 1 seeds. My new 1 seeds are Ohio State, Kansas, North Carolina, Notre Dame. My 2 seeds are Duke, BYU, Texas, and Pittsburgh. The reason Pittsburgh has dropped is because today Kemba Walker man handled the Panthers to the tune of 24 points and some the basketball lodged in Gary McGee's eye. Sorry Gary at least try to block him. Kemba Walker is so clutch and I don't know why Dixon wouldn't run two guys at him. I mean come on you might get a block and if you were lucky enough to get the terrible three refs from the Rutgers St. Johns game a foul wouldn't be called and then  you could step out of bounds then run to the hoop and lay it in. Last discussion is about Syracuse. They knocked off St. Johns behind some big performances. Fab Melo who I said was a key to the Orange success scored 12 points hitting big layups late. Triche added a good performance along with Jackson. That is why this team is advancing. Look for Syracuse to advance to the final between Kris Joseph stepping up and the zone once again shutting down Kemba Walker who has scored a lot in the Tournament so far will struggle against the zone. Keep reading and send questions. Tomorrow night Syracuse plays at 7 and I will be on facebook leading a discussion during the game on any thing Syracuse hope you all join in. I'm Out!

Conference Tourneys and other fun

Tonight is the first where the big conference tournaments start off or mainly just the biggest one the Big East Tourney. Today the tourney saw a struggling Huskies team roll over the laughing stalk of the conference DePaul. The second game was an overtime thriller between Seton Hall and Rutgers. The battle for New Jersey was a heated one. The game was sent to overtime after Jeremy Hazell hit a ridiculous three to tie it up. The Rutgers when on a late run and won it 76-70. Right now in the Big East the Villanova Wildcats are up on South Florida in the second half and Marquette and Providence play late. My bad Larkin I told you that game was at 7. Now onto another story in the baseball world. A report says that pitcher Zack Grienke has a broken rib and will be out for a few weeks. Some of my viewers are probably wondering why do we care about this broken rib. The reason I bring this up is that the reason he broke his rib is because he was playing in a pick-up basketball game. I mean come on man you just got acquired by this team for a good deal of prospects and money. They signed you to even more money and you pull this act. You were put on this earth to be a good citizen and to stand on a hill and through a small sphere 60ft. 6 in. at 95 mph past other guys that think they can hit it. You are not supposed to being ball with old players, senators or coaches. I mean even if you said you were playing with President Obama I wouldn't believe you because he would know that playing was a bad idea. Please Obama make a law that if any athletes get injured playing another sport recreationally that they will be charged with a crime. I mean the only other guy to pull this crap was Aaron Boone. The only difference was that Boone only had one good hit in his whole life. Ha Ha Tim Wakefield nice knuckleball. If I was the Brewers GM I would fine him or give him a pay cut. Your a joke Greinke and so are your basketball skills. Keep reading send mail. More Big East talk tomorrow. I'm Out!

Less than a week!

We are now in the midst of one of the great weeks in college basketball. Conference Tournament week. By the end of this week we all will have a good idea of who will be the top teams come tournament time. Ohio State has solidified themselves as the top team in the country and the rest of the polls look the same except Notre Dame moved up while BYU and Duke fell. Others team making a big move are Syracuse #11 and North Carolina #6. That's a look at the polls for this week. Before my Big East Tourney Preview for tomorrow. I would like to play Bracketologist for a minute and give you all my top 8 teams. These are my 1 and 2 seeds for the tournament. My 1 seeds are Ohio State, Kansas, Pittsburgh, and North Carolina. My 2 seeds are Duke, BYU, Notre Dame, and Texas. If any of these teams lose I will update this bit. Now onto the Big East Tourney. The greatest conference tournament around. A 5 day 16 team tournament in Madison Square Garden how does it get any better. Tomorrow we see four games starting off with UCONN and Depaul. UCONN will win but Depaul will play better. At 2pm we will see two New Jersey teams face off as Seton Hall plays Rutgers. Look for Jeremy Hazell to put up big numbers in a Hall win. In primetime we start off with struggling Villanova taking on South Florida. Nova will win in a close game. The final game of the night showcases Marshon Brooks Big East leading scorer (24.8ppg) and the Providence Friars facing off with the Marquette Golden Eagles. I see this as a must win for the the Eagles to solidify a big dance berth. I think Brooks will shine in the spotlight and take over. That's a look at tomorrows action. Four tickets being punched tonight for the tourney I got Old Dominion over VCU, Iona over St. Peters, Charleston over Wofford, and Gonzaga over St. Mary's. Now for the final bit tonight fan mail. Keith asks what I think of how the NBA deals with technicals. Keith, I think their policy is reasonable but there are two changes that need to be made. If you are only gonna give 16 until a suspension you need to tell the refs to chill with the T's. Dwight Howard who is missing action tonight has gotten numerous T's for reacting to his own actions not towards a ref. Refs in the NBA think they are more important than the players. Come on Refs the only way you guys get on Sportscenter is for being complete idiots. Get the right refs at the good games. The other rule thats need to be changed is that when you are suspended you can't not even show up at the arena. Come on Stern if your gonna suspend the guy make him dress up nice, sit there by the coach, and be part of the team even if he can't play. Enough on that. Keep sending your questions and Reading. I'm Out!

The weekend that was

What a weekend in the sports world. We saw many intriguing things that we can discuss. First off the Duke and North Carolina game. UNC upset Duke at home in convincing fashion to clinch the ACC Title. This game was a great one to watch. You got to see upstart PG Marshall running the show for the Tar Heels. But if anyone was truly paying attention many of us knew the game was over long before the final buzzer went off. This was seen through the poor 3 point shooting by the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils minus Seth Curry were 0-16 from deep. With Curry they shot 6-27. That is a measly 22%. In all of their losses this year they have shot under 30% from behind the arc. Message to Coach K on this topic. I'm only saying it once and then I will never mention it again. This is a bold statement but its true. Coach K if you didn't preach the 3-pointer as much as you do you would NEVER LOSE A GAME. That's all I am saying no more grilling Coach K. To finish up yesterday just want to give a shout out to Danica Patrick on her 4th place finish in the Vegas Race. Setting the mark as the best finish by a female driver in NASCAR history. Now to today the game every one will be talking about Bulls vs. Heat. This game came down to the last seconds and once again the Bulls win over the Heat and LeBron James making poor decisions for the Heat late. For anyone that didn't watch the game LeBron James missed a left handed forced layup late and the Heat lost by one. I don't know what LeBron was thinking but he was never gonna make that layup against three Bulls in the lane. I know some of you are blaming Wade too for missing the jumper at the buzzer. Come on the guy scrapped for the ball, waltzed out of bounds, luckily got a no call and then threw up an unset fade away at the buzzer. He wouldn't of even had to force that shot if LeBron wasn't playing streetball instead of looking for open teammates. LeBron is just a straight Ball Hog and will never play well with other good guys enough to win a championship. Enough on him time to answer a few fan questions. Mike asks if Jeter will return from his subpar year and hit like he has before? Mike, Jeter will rebound some this year as he will see better pitches wih possibly Nick Swisher batting behind him. I do not think he will have a .330 year but he will have a .310-.315 year. The key is to work the count and go the other way like he always has. Mike also asks about Fab Melo's break out day yesterday. I wasn't surprised by this performance but I feel that he needs to keep putting up similar numbers to make Syracuse good and for added confidence for next year. Thanks for reading ask questions this week about Bubble teams, NBA action, or anything else. This week is conference tournament week so there will be extended coverage on those games. Thanks and I hope you enjoy this great week of sports.

TGIF!

It's finally Friday. The first bit for today is an update on the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the NFL. After a long day of negotiating and discussing new deals the union and the owners have decided to extend this saga another week. I don't completely understand why they are drawing this out for so long. The NFL is still the most popular sport in the country so I don't understand why Godell is pulling this publicity stunt. I mean come on Roger we all know that your not gonna get your way in extending the seaon longer or cutting salaries of trainers. Just end the drama fest and start getting ready to the make the announcement for the first pick in the draft. The draft should be your true focus now not some labor strike that will never happen. This is a media filled world and right now your acting like a bad guy for prolonging this array of fake threats. Get it together your the commissioner of the NFL not the president or Charlie Sheen. Cut the stunt and lets play ball. Before I discuss the games going on the tonight I want to reflect on an eye opener from last night. Last night the Orlando Magic upheld my upset alert by rallying from down 24 in the third quarter to winning the game by 3 over the Miami Heat and their Little 3. Talk today around the sports world was why can't Miami close out close games? Some people pulled out dumb answers like the players are bad closers, the teams the play are clutch, and lastly that they are still lacking team chemistry. Okay if they still can't figure each other out after 3/4 of a season they will never be good. But I think their struggles boil down to one sentence. Lebron if your not gonna make the shot don't take it. I mean come on the two new additions Bosh and James are the only ones that take the big shots. If I was Dwayne Wade I would just tell Erik Spolestra to take me out because there's no way LeBron BallHog James is not passing the rock. If Dwayne Wade starts getting the rock late start seeing the Heat play better. Now onto tonights action. I will not be doing any upset alert as there are no upsets that I want to pick sorry. A few games I will pick are the Bulls over the Magic at home. Thunder over the Hawks in Atlanta. San Antonio over Miami in Texas. Those are all the picks I am making. Please send more questions and keep reading.

NFL is it over

The NFL is now approaching the 11th hour with their collective bargaining agreement. Well actually they are at the 10th hour I guess as they have decided to give owners and the players union a 24 hour extension. Sources say that they are close to deciding on a deal and that it should be made by tomorrow night. What if the deal is never met. Lets zoom ahead a few months and think of a world without the NFL. I mean what would we all do without the NFL. Instead of doing your fantasy football draft in August you will be sitting in your room watching lame soccer games from Europe or some show on MTV that no one actually cares about. Also without the NFL ESPN will run out of material on the possibilities of Brett Favre making another come back with a terrible team. Watch Dallas Brett might want to come play for you. Don't worry he won't show up until all the training camp drills are over but he will still be the starter. The final thing about a world without the NFL is that without it what will you watch on Sundays and on holidays. I mean on Sundays there is always old wanna be athletes rolling balls down lanes trying to knock over all the pins. Don't get me wrong I love to bowl but honestly who actually would want to watch that. On holidays you can watch all the specials like the Macy's Parade on Thanksgiving and on Christmas you can't sit around the tree and watch old movies that your parents love and that you love to shut off. Basically the whole point of this bit is that without the NFL life will suck. So get it together Commissioner or you will lose a lot of loyal fans. Now onto tonights game and I am gonna start with my upset alert. I know what you are thinking the last two nights I have got my upset alert but with every new day comes a new opportunity. Tonight I'm getting back on the good side and picking the Orlando Magic over the Miami Heat in Miami. Couple other games tonight I got St. Johns locking up their double bye tonight over Seton Hall and Denver will go to 5-1 after the departure of Anthony against the Jazz. Those are my picks for the night. Now its time for my one fan mail tonight. Frequent viewer Sam wants me talk about Trevor Bayne Daytona 500 champ. Don't get me wrong his superbowl win gave me chicken skin but he has a lot of growing to do. He will still race a shortened schedule in the Sprint Cup and will go for the Nationwide title. I feel the key for his success this year is that he needs to stay calm like he has and not try to do too much. If he can do these two things this season will be a lot easier for him. Thanks for following and keep sending questions. I'm Out!

Hump Day Blogging

Happy hump day to all. I am glad to be sitting here blogging tonight for all of your enjoyment. I am gonna start off by discussing some things that occurred in college basketball last night. First I would like to congratulate Purdue on a big rally in a win on senior night. They got off to a slow start on senior night but rallied late to win over a quality opponent in Illinois. The point of slow starts brings me to a question I would like you all to write on the wall or comment on. Do you my followers feel that senior night is extremely emotional and can cause teams to come out flat? The only reason I want your thoughts is because I heard Digger Phelps say that teams usually come out flat on senior night and I want to know if anyone else feels this way because I just think he is making excuses for teams that have struggled all year in the first half. I mean when I say the words Villanova vs. Notre Dame I bet many of you aren't thinking about a team that came out flat on Monday night but whatever Phelps when those First Half Zombies start playing good teams in the Big Dance they won't even want to come out on the court for the second half. The other college game I would like to comment on is Ohio State vs. Penn State. I know I had the Buckeyes as an 8 point favorite. I forgot two things though John Diebler can shoot the three and in order for Penn State to be good Taylor Battle the point guard should actually try showing up and doing something. Sorry Penn State YOU GOT ROCKED! Now onto tonights action I am gonna start out with my upset alert. I got Florida State over North Carolina in Florida. Sorry Roy Williams Seminoles D is nasty and Harrison Barnes is not ready to lead this team to the Final Four like some ESPN personnel think. Other games I got Kansas over Texas A&M, Duke over Clemson, and in the NBA with Chauncey Billups out for the Knicks I got the Hornets over the Knicks at MSG. Sorry Tony Douglas your good but not as good as Mr. Big Shot. Now for my last section tonight I am going to go to fan mail. 1. My first non-faceboook friend follower named Windyridge asks who I fancy for player of the year in college hoops. Some are probably thinking Jimmer Fredette he takes to many shots, Kemba Walker you might say where is Kemba Walker I say. My player of the year is James Sullinger from Ohio State his team is #1 in the country and he has been the most consistent player in hoops. The other two mails I received go hand in hand. Sam asked me whats going on in Spring Training and Keith sent me a link to a story about Andy Sonnanstine the Rays pitcher. To both of these members I would like to say yes Keith I saw it. For those of you who don't know yesterday Sonnanstine faced 11 batters giving up 5 homers. Keith are we really surprised this is a guy that throws 86 with a changeup that goes 80. He is washed up and its time for him to give up and go sell hot dogs at the concession stand. This guy is gonna be .500 for the Double A club and I am sorry for that team that he pitches on. Sam spring training baseball is a joke. I think it is worse then NBA and NFL preseason put together. In spring training the normal big leaguers will take one at bat and throw two innings. After their "long day" they shower and leave the park before fans even sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game. If I was the MLB I wouldn't even televise this circus act. Thanks for the mail and tomorrow night we will discuss the NFL Labor agreement as it expires tomorrow night at 11:59. I'm Out!!

Why are there no big headlines!!!!!!

Hey guys I'm back for another night of sports chat with all of my beloved fans. Due to the lack of of intriguing headlines tonights blog is gonna be a little different. For starters I just want to welcome everyone to the month of March. March is a very important month of sports for a few reasons. If you are a sports fan that is into the PGA first off I am sorry you never got into a real sport and secondly the first big time tournaments of the calendar year take place. Also if you are a NASCAR fan the races start to pick-up and so do the tempers. But all of these events play second fiddle to the real reason to watch sports in March. MARCH MADNESS BABY! For those of you that love college basketball think about this before this month is over you will see your team play through a conference tournament and then if you follow a team that is actually good,(Sorry to any Seton Hall, Albany or Colgate fans) you can watch your team play in the NCAA Tournament. The greatest tournament in all of sports. That is why it is good to be a sports fan in the month of March. Now to todays action and news. The Jets have made the decision to keep LaDainian Tomlinson for the remainder of his contract. This comes after a very productive season in which he ran for 916 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Big Apple has rejuvenated his career. In the NBA the Miami Heat made a roster move today cutting starting point guard Carlos Arroyo with reports saying the team will buyout Mike Bibby's contract from the Washington Wizards making him the starting point guard. Now onto the games tonight. One game I am watching is college basketball between Illinois and #6 Purdue. This game was a blow out earl but now stands with the Fighting Illini up by 1 after a 12-0 run by Purdue with four minutes left in the 1st half. I hope to see Purdue rally and win this game. With the late game being #1 Ohio State vs. Penn State I have Ohio State winning that game by 8 on the road at Happy Valley. The team I am putting on upset alert tonight is in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76er's knocking of Dirk and the Mavericks. With no fan mail tonight I have decided to close this post out with three shout outs. 1. The first shout out is to Tom Kopko of the Notre Dame fighting Irish. He is a walk on senior for the basketball team and last night on senior night he got in the game late, took an outlet pass, and laid it in on the other end to bring the crowd to its feet. 2. I would like to give a shout out to former NASCAR racer Morgan Shepherd who is 69 years old and still is in shape enough to chase down shoplifters at a Wal-Mart near his hometown. 3. I would finally like to shout out to a kid in my gym class, Nate Stark, who in one 5 minute game of floor hockey today scored 8 goals on Yours Truly and fist pumped liked Snookie and the Situation after each goal. Thank you for reading and send more questions for future posts.
