AL Awards

Today is Saturday, that means its time to hand out the AL Awards. The best team of the week in the AL is the Cleveland Indians. They are 5-2 in their last 7. They are first in the AL central holding a 4.5 game lead of the Royals. They cuurently have the best record in the AL. They look to keep it going against the Angels, Rays, and Mariners this week. The positon player of the week is Curtis Granderson. Over the past 7 days, Curtis batted .269 with 3 HR, 7 RBI and 4 BB. He now leads the AL with 10 homers. Finally the pitcher of the week. We have a new pitcher this week and it is the Rays James Shields. Over the past 7 days James has thrown 15.1 giving up 9 hits and 2 ER. He struck out 17 and walked 4.
